Israeli Polymer Clay Artists

This week, the spotlight is on our friends that cane from Israel. For me, it seems they have a unique caning style that exudes colors, lots and lots of color. I love to see their work and how intricate they make their canes. Iris Mishley, Sigalot Designs, Ronit Golan, Orly Rabinowitz, Liat R, and Tamishvat are a few of the artists that come to mind. Flowers are large compononts of their work, and the varying designs of flowers as they are joined together, make beautiful pieces.

This is a sample of her work of painted scarves. She handpaints as well as she canes or is it vise versa? She did create a cane and then a bracelet to match, totally awesome! If you would like to view more of her work, or see this scarf up close and personal, click on one of the links above!

Polymer Clay Puffy Heart

Liat R has fun creating these fish with flower canes and there are "schools" of them on her flickr site! Once again another artist who has mastered the art of caning flowers to perfection! She too has a shop on Etsy, http://www.etsy.com/shop/liatripp , that also sells a tutorial for making her fish magnets.

WOW!

Necklace Quilt Dream
Necklace "Quilt Dream"
I ran across German Polymer Artist simply known as ST-Art-Clay on flickr. Her profile indicates that she is a relative newbie to the Polymer community, working with the medium since "autumn 2009".  In a mere two years, she seems to have mastered the form extremely well. Her jaw dropping designs are nothing but perfection! Not sure if she has a web site as there is none mentioned and no mention of a shop or what she does with her designs after they are finished.....but they are georgeous and would be wonderful additions to someones collections! The necklace above is pure elegance!

Alice Stroppel and her canes!

Is there anyone working in polymer clay, that has not seen the exciting new technique brought to us by Alice Stroppel? The "Stroppel Cane" is everywhere! Who knew? Who knew that such a "simple" technique could go so viral! I know I have had my try at it and to use up canes that I thought I could no longer use, a godsend! (Did I mention that some of my canes were "years" old?)

These girlfriends are all decked out in their "Stroppel" Sweaters!.
Alice is such a pro at caning, producing the lovely faces, hair and other attributes. Stop by Alice's shop at Etsy to see more of her beautiful work! http://www.etsy.com/shop/alicestroppel

Just when you think that nothing new can come along, along comes Alice! It just goes to show that with imagination, great things can happen!

Have a Great Day!

Good Morning!

Canes! What can I say? I love the use of canes when creating with polymer clay! To me, it is the very backbone of all polymer clay arts! Taken from the ages old glass art form of Millifiori, (A thousand flowers), the art of building canes from polymer clay can be nothing short of spectacular! In this blog, I hope to bring to the pages, the myriad of artists that use caning as their heart and soul of creation. Beads, jewelry and more will be highlighted for your enjoyment, inspiration and admiration.

It will take a few days to adjust to being a new mommy to this blog, but we'll get there as all new parents do!

Thanks for joining me!
